Yet another Christmassy thing that makes Christmas more Christmassy:  Other people’s lights

Granted, a lot of people’s lights are really hideous - just a strand thrown up on an otherwise bare tree looks really gross to me for some reason - but when there’s effort in it (like there’s a lot of lights, or there’s a theme, or it just looks plain fun) then it makes me smile.

I especially love when people put their trees in their front window to show it off to all the world.  It’s a thing of pride.  Christmassy pride.  GO CHRISTMAS!

Christmas Thing #3 & 4 - The Grinch

I didn’t really realize this one til I watched it the other day (thanks Erin!) but there are at least 2 big moments in this that make my Christmas more smiley, and they are in rapid succession!

The first is when the Grinch is puzzling and puzzing til his puzzler was sore, and then he thought of something he hadn’t before - and his eyes turn blue.  He knows Christmas now!  Christmas = blue eyes!

The second is riht after it when he tries so hard (and so does Max) to save all the stuff that he stole.  He’s pretty much risking his life (as without the strength of at least 12 grinches he will fall to his death) but he does it anyways.  He risks his life to save Christmas.  True, he tried to ruin it initially, but that’s because his eyes were red.

Another thing that makes Christmas more Christmassy: Christmas Rice Krispies Cereal

I have a bowl of this every morning in December (which is Christmas, really) to ensure that no matter what else happens in the day, I will have eaten/participated in one Christmassy activity.

And yes, I know they claim to be “Holiday” not “Christmas” but they are riding in a flying sleigh, pulled by flying reindeer, past a Christmas tree.  AND they are red and green.  All that stuff = Christmas.  Plus, they don’t put this stuff out on Valentine’s Day.  It’s Christmas.

There are certain little (possibly even tiny) things I need to experience in order to say I truly had a great Christmas.  I’m going to list some of them here on this thing.

Thing #1: The “Oooooooh” elongated lips of every character (at some point) during Garfield’s Christmas special.  They are a thing of exagerated beauty.

Okay, this has gone on long enough without me saying anything…

It’s frickin’ Christmas!

I know it!

You know it!

That chickadee knows it.

CHRISTMAS!!!!!

At least 22 more days of this folks - get used to it.
